Drain connection
A pipe that ends in saturated soil will not empty the well. The outlet must be identified.
Egress
Bedroom escape openings must remain usable. A cover or smaller well should not defeat that function.

Can an egress window have a cover?
Often yes, if the cover preserves required clearance and can be opened from inside without tools or special knowledge. Confirm the requirements for the specific opening.
