Stone foundation repointing
Loose and failed mortar is removed to sound material and replaced with a mortar compatible with the existing masonry.
Masonry rebuilding, repointing & water control
Older stone and concrete-block foundations need repair methods that fit the wall—not a concrete crack product applied everywhere. We repair deteriorated mortar, loose stone, cracked block, leaking joints and unstable wall sections while coordinating drainage and structural work when needed.
Common reasons homeowners call
Loose or missing mortar between stones
Powdering or flaking block and mortar
Stair-step cracks through block joints
Bulging or displaced masonry
Water entering through many small joints
Previous parging is hollow or falling off
Repairs and systems
Depending on the property, the project may use one of these repairs or combine several into a complete system.
Loose and failed mortar is removed to sound material and replaced with a mortar compatible with the existing masonry.
Unstable stone or block sections are carefully dismantled and rebuilt with proper bearing and alignment.
Cracked units and mortar joints are repaired according to whether the issue is localized leakage or structural movement.
A sound masonry surface can receive a protective parge coat after loose material and water causes are corrected.
Bowing or displaced masonry may need braces, anchors, reinforcing or engineered reconstruction.
Exterior water, wall drainage and interior collection are coordinated with masonry repair to keep the wall from staying saturated.

Your estimate
Mortar that is much harder than older stone or brick can move damage into the masonry. Existing materials should guide the repair.
A surface coat can improve a sound wall but should not be used to conceal loose stone or movement.
Sealing the interior face without controlling water can move the leak or accelerate deterioration.
Bulkheads, windows, beams and concentrated loads often need extra attention during masonry repair.

Common questions
These answers cover the questions homeowners ask most often. Your inspection and written estimate will address the conditions at your home.
Not automatically. A parge coat can protect a stable wall, but it should not hide failed mortar, loose stone or water pressure. The mortar and coating must also be compatible with the existing masonry.
Water can usually be reduced or controlled through repointing, exterior drainage, wall drainage, interior collection and humidity control. Because stone walls contain many joints, the solution is often a system rather than one injected crack.
Sections with significant bulging, loose material, lost bearing or deep deterioration may need rebuilding. An on-site evaluation determines whether selective repair is enough.
