Request a basement or foundation inspection
Describe the property and the visible problem to request contact about an inspection. Choose the closest issue even if the cause is unknown.
A participating independent company may respond; confirm its identity, availability, visit fee and scope before scheduling. This form does not dispatch emergency help.
Prepare the description
State when the symptom appears, its first visible location, whether the sump had power and what repair was attempted before. Keep photographs and earlier reports for a later conversation; this form does not include a document upload.
A request is not a confirmed appointment. Ask the responding business whether the visit is a repair estimate, a paid inspection or an engineering evaluation, and what written result it provides.
Request another basement or foundation estimate
Choose “Second estimate” in the issue field if you already have a proposal. Keep the original proposal, quoted price, drainage length, pump and discharge details, structural method, restoration exclusions and warranty terms available.
Ask the inspector to identify the property conditions and proposed repair scope before comparing the first quote. A lower price may omit drainage, restoration or backup equipment; compare the named work before the total. A document upload is not required for this first request.

How a second inspection differs from a second quote
A second quote usually repeats the first company's assumptions with a different price on the end. A second inspection starts over. The inspector looks at the property without the first proposal in hand, writes down what the basement or foundation needs, and only then reads the other scope beside it
That order matters when the two proposals disagree. One may call for a full perimeter drain while the other repairs a single crack, or one may specify a sump with battery backup while the other leaves the old pump in place. The gap is usually in the scope, not the price
Bring the first estimate as it was written, with the drain length, pump and discharge details, wall repair method, restoration and warranty terms. Those lines are what make the two proposals comparable
A second estimate is one way to check a quote. The estimate comparison guide lays out the eight lines that have to match
